The Steele Cemetery

Doretha and I looked for the Steele Cemetery. We did not find it, but we walked across the Steele bridge and on the grounds and roads of the beautiful historic farm. When we returned from our trip, we were contacted by our Steele cousin Cova who told us we were surrounded by Steeles in all the houses around where we had stopped. Cova Freeman ( ifreeman@cinci.rr.com ) invited us to join the Steele Family site which had so much more information about the Steeles.

This a genealogy site of The Steele Families.

This a long article written by an old settler of Tazewell Virginia. It's very descriptive. I was surprised by the number of murders that took place. It was very wild country. The Indians were a danger to the settlers.

This is a great site of the Civil War soldiers from Russell County VA. John Wesley Steele was at Appomattox.
